Prana Wetsuits
Design As A Second Skin
Prana Wetsuits is a boutique scuba diving apparel brand born from a couple’s love for the sea. Based in Bangkok, their vision blends elegant, artsy design with the fluidity of underwater life. I was invited to illustrate their debut collection of wetsuits—garments meant to be worn either as stand-alone pieces in warm water or as inner layers beneath traditional scuba suits.
For the first collection, I was given full creative freedom to explore the underwater world through my illustration style. The result had to feel organic, dreamlike, and colorful—something that divers could wear with pride, knowing it carries the spirit of the ocean on their skin. Since the product was new and in its testing phase, design had to be adaptable, functional, and visually captivating.
I created all marine elements using Procreate, then placed and refined the final layout in Adobe Illustrator to match the sewing templates with precision. The illustration style was a blend of organic and dreamy, inspired by abstract sea shapes and real-life marine creatures. I worked closely with the brand founders, who trusted my creative direction and encouraged deep storytelling.
The process included design consulting, color theory, and storytelling strategy to ensure the artwork and the brand evolved hand-in-hand.
The first collection was used as a soft launch, helping the brand explore its aesthetic direction and market response. I’ve since taken on a larger role by leading creative direction for the next collection, including how to communicate the brand’s story more effectively across social media and digital platforms.
Seeing my designs worn by real divers in the water was a rewarding moment—they didn’t just wear wetsuits, they wore stories.
As a diver myself, this project felt personal. I got to combine my love for botanical forms, ocean life, and surface design all in one project. What excites me most about the 2026 collection is how deeply it connects to real underwater experiences—moments that changed me, now transformed into wearable art.
