Piaget Geneva
Where Tradition Meets The Digital Edge
Piaget, the legendary Swiss maison celebrated for over 150 years of high jewelry and haute horlogerie excellence, invited me to lead a bespoke, 3-day Procreate training at their Geneva headquarters. The goal: equip their in-house designers—specialists in jewelry, watches, and 3D modeling—with digital tools to streamline their creative process without compromising the house’s artisanal standards.
Until then, Piaget’s design team worked primarily on paper. Each jewelry element was sketched by hand, often requiring multiple rounds of refinement across mediums. They needed a solution that honored their high craftsmanship while optimizing time and precision.
I developed a fully customized training program spanning three full-day sessions (6–8 hours daily), with the active involvement of watch designers, jewelry designers, 3D artists—and even Piaget’s Creative Director, Stéphanie Sivrière.
The training covered:
- Custom brush creation (including gemstone, chain, and bezel brushes)
- Texture design and digital rendering for high jewelry concepts
- Workflow design within Procreate to mirror their existing luxury process
Each participant received a 100+ page digital training manual with crystal-clear instructions, embedded videos, and repeatable steps—designed for both fast and slow learners.
The results were immediate. Designers began creating entire jewelry chains in a single stroke, generating bespoke textures, and finishing conceptual designs entirely within Procreate. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive: the team appreciated the structured, patient teaching style and the lasting value of the tools provided.
This was more than a teaching experience—it was an artistic exchange. Watching artisans set gemstones by hand and seeing century-old traditions in action reminded me that whether drawing on paper or iPad, artists speak the same language. I felt honored and at home among them.
